18- 22 April 2007
Cologne, Germany

In 2007, the world’s longest-established fair for modern and contemporary art moves into the spring and will take place at the Cologne exhibition center from 18th to 22nd April.
The field of exhibitors includes many internationally renowned galleries. The exhibitors’ stands will present a comprehensive overview of the art of the 20th and 21st centuries — from modernism to the most recent works by contemporary artists. In addition to important works from the post-war period, the exhibitors are increasingly focusing on contemporary art. An integral feature of ART COLOGNE is “Open Space”, a curated outdoor sale exhibition area for contemporary art.

QUALITY STREET® 2007
April 13-15, 2007
Frankfurt fairgrounds, Germany

The second fine art fair frankfurt, "QUALITY STREET®", is dedicated exclusively to sculpture. It will showcase some fifty international galleries, featuring artworks from the 20th and 21st centuries. By focussing on a single (and in this case highly relevant) topic, an incomparable event awaits both visitors and exhibiting galleries. The future editions of the fair will also be limited to a specific form of artistic representation.
Wilfried Kühn, head of the prestigious Kühn/Malvezziarchitectural office in Berlin, has developed an architectural layout and a theatrical lighting scheme to show sculpture at its best. Visitors will be treated to a dramatic display of spot-lit works in QUALITY STREET’s® darkened exhibition hall.

ArtParis 2007
from March 29 until April 2

Paris, France

For its ninth edition, ArtParis installs itself once again, as in the previous year, under the glass roof of the Grand Palais. A definitively spring event, ArtParis again welcomes the prestigious names which joined it in 2006, through which it has connected itself to a number of important galleries specialized in contemporary art.
It is noteworthy that since the change of the event’s date on the calendar, the percentage of returning exhibitors has come up to 70%. The number of foreign galleries, which has now leveled out to a constant rate, is around 30%, as in the previous year.
Nine editors are present and seventeen galleries participate in the Sculpture Program.

Furthermore, the first prize for drawing to be given by Daniel and Florence Guerlain Foundation will be awarded during the fair and the works of the three nominated artists will be on view for the duration of the fair.

With a total of 109 galleries, ArtParis welcomes visitors from March 29 until April 2.

ART KARLSRUHE 2007
22 to 25 March 2007

Rheinstetten, Germany

The fourth Art KARLSRUHE, taking place from 22 to 25 March 2007, distinguishes itself not only by some 200 one-artist shows but above all by the sculpture zones. This time no less than 18 galleries have booked a sculpture spot – a record that substantiates the growing demand for works by sculptors on the international art market. A new feature is that this year Ewald Karl Schrade and a jury of five examined the 300 or so applications and ultimately selected the 161 participating galleries from nine countries.

Among the selected new exhibitors are Galerie Forsblom (Helsinki), Rainer M. Ludorff (Düsseldorf), Michael Schultz (Berlin), and Walter Storms (Munich). Once again the accompanying special exhibitions presented by Art KARLSRUHE are setting new directions of their own. The works of the expressive group of painters Cobra from the collection of the Ravensburg collector couple Gudrun and Peter Selinka are just as much part of the new ‘museum mile’ as exhibits by the younger artists that the Hamburg collector Rik Reinking is bringing to Karlsruhe. The ZKM and the State Academy for Design are important institutions in the Karlsruhe art scene also represented in this section of the event. This year too the intellectual debate about art and the art market is being given a good airing at Art KARLSRUHE.
